This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the use of statistical methods in the analysis of selected indicators of Telefonica Czech Republic, a.s. The work is divided into a theoretical part, analysis of current situation, and proposed solutions. The theoretical part concerns the important terms of time series and clarifies regression analysis. In the analytical part, the theoretical evaluation is applied to the current state of society and forecasts are made for the future.

Financial analysis of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic

This work is analyzing the financial situation of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. It is analyzed by most used indicator like profitability, solvency and liquidity ratios. It also uses investment valuation ratios and economic value added. The analysis is also comparing the company with its main competitors on the field of mobile communication. The assets and net profit of the company are heavily influenced by the state correction in 2003. From indicators not influenced by the correction we can tell, that financial situation was good in spite of negative net profit. The financial situation in years 2003 to 2008 is very good. Profitability ratios of the main competitor T-Mobile Czech Republic, a.s. are very similar but the researched company has been a little bit better most years. On the basis of this financial analysis I find the financial health of the company very good, with great potential.

Práce hodnotí výkonnost společností Český Telecom a Telefónica O2 s ohledem na specifika telekomunikačního trhu. Výkonnost obou společností posuzuje především pro potřeby potenciálního investora. Dominantním prvkem práce je finanční analýza. Součástí je také zhodnocení restrukturalizace, kterou společnost ve sledovaném období prošla. Cílem je posoudit všechny důležité aspekty finanční výkonnosti firmy a odhadnout její budoucí vývoj.
